RHODE ISLAND 3

RHODE ISLAND 3

Well I am hoping by now you are looking to plan a visit to this wonderful State.  But incase you want some more convincing.  Let's try some adult fun by way of Breweries and Vineyards.

Did you know that there are 6 Vineyards and 11 Breweries.  I love to explore Vineyards and Wineries from the region.  You never know when you will find just the right Wine for that party or event.

One Vineyard you may want to visit is Diamond Hill Vineyards in Cumberland, Rhode Island.  They actually had thier first planting of Pinot Noir Vines in 1976 and now they have ten acres of this French grape and thier first vintage of these grape was release in 1983...they also pay special attention to French Tradition and usse French oak barrels for aging.  Now with that being said, Rhode Island is rich with fruits such as apples, blueberries and peaches...So what else....yes... Diamond Hill created wines using these fruits.  You may just have to go and sample a few.

Now if you zip over to Middletown, Rhode Island you can explore
Newport Vineyards and Winery.  It is a family run winery and is one of the modern in theNortheast.  They originally planted on a  hill overloooking Rhode Island Sound...They even have a Winterfest every year in February....and of course you can go on a tour see the facilities and there is even a restaurant on site...so make sure you have a delicious meal and sample some of thier wines.

BREWERIES

Isn't this just screaming for you to take a taste?!

Okay so your not into Wines.  You just would like to have a cold one.  So let's talk Breweries.  There are quite a few to visit but I want to talk about
Whaler's Brewing Company.  Whaler's Brewing is located in South Kingston, Rhode Island.  If you were listening to my podcast I had the opportunity to speak with Whaler's Brewing Company.  They have a 7000sq ft facility and have 6 different brews on tap alone.  One particular tasty sounding brew was a hazelnut stout....I will definitely have to try that one.  You see I like the hardier tasting beers...dark brews...So if you try this one before I get a chance to, let me know how it tastes.

So don't let the size of Rhode Island fool you.  It may be small but its loaded with things to do and see along with taste.

So till then...I hope I am helping you Re-Discover America.
